CARLISLE, JOHN VICTOR age 76, died January 22, 2018. Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at the West Flint Church of the Nazarene, 2254 S. Dye Rd., Flint, MI. 48532. Pastor Matt Soulia officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480. E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. and one hour before the service at the Church. John was born October 20, 1941 in Mancelona, MI to parents George and Dolly (Moore) Carlisle. He retired from General Motors, Truck & Bus. He was involved in the Flint Flyers and Flint Pigeon Clubs, Flying Aces model airplane club, and known for his many interests in plants, gardening, and raising animals. He was committed to North Flint Church of the Nazarene followed by West Flint Church of the Nazarene where he served tirelessly including multiple mission trips in the U.S. and abroad. Surviving are children, Sid (Jenny Gross) Carlisle, John (Melissa) Carlisle Jr., and Michael (Nicole) Carlisle; grandchildren, Kyle (Valerie), Eric (Madison), Aaron, Brixton, Lochlan, Kinsman, and Miralette; siblings Gloria (Jack) Bigelow, Lydia Nichol, Sue (Charles) Griffith, Verna Hollers, Alfred Carlisle. Preceded in death by wife Joyce, January 14, 2017; sisters Becky Henderson and Marion Roberts; parents George and Dolly Carlisle. Contributions may be made to West Flint Church of the Nazarene Mission Fund. |
