SUMMERS, Marilyn Maurine - Age 81, of Swartz Creek, died March 6, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Sunday, March 10, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Rev. Kevin Harbin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2-8 PM Saturday. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Marilyn was born August 2, 1931 in Byron, the daughter of Earl and Helen (Kline) BeDen. Mrs. Summers retired from Swartz Creek Schools. She was a member of the VFW, Eagles and was an avid golfer. She owned and operated Summers Restaurant in Swartz Creek from 1967-1975. Surviving are: children, Pamela (Mark) Veselsky, Karen Summers, Rodney Summers, Ronald (Roberta) Summers, Helen Summers, Patricia (Scott) Shumaker; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, George BeDen (Myrna), Earl "Chuck" BeDen, Richard "Dick" BeDen (Esther); sister, Gretchen Gregory (Don); sisters-in-law, Mitzi Brady, Diane Pendergrass, brother-in-law Matt Summers, several nieces and nephews.
