Charles G. Eister, age 92, of Davison and Suttons Bay died May 27, 2013 at Sterling House in Davison surrounded by his loving family.
Charles was born March 21, 1921 in Laurium, MI. The son of the late Homer and Elsie Eister. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Suttons Bay. Charles loved the peace & beauty of nature, whether it was planting flowers or taking a nature walk. He also enjoyed photography, surfing the web, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He owned and operated Charles Eister Builder for over 60 years, and one of his most memorable projects was being the general contractor on the original Leelanau Sands Casino & Hotel.
Charles is survived by his children: Gerry Eister, Charm ( Larry ) Healy, Marianne Eister, Matthew Eister, Karen ( Paul ) LaCoursiere, brother: John ( June ) Eister, 6 grandchildren: Shelly, Jarrod, Brandon, Jason, Jordan, M’Caul, several great grandchildren, and close friends Father Andy, Marlo, Louie, and Leonard. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Willard and Denton, and grandson Chuck.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held later this summer.
