ECHOLS, Jack – of Flint, age 91, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Monday, March 16, 2020 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Jim Garfield officiating. Burial will be in Tanner Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Sunday, March 15, 2020 and 11 AM until the time of service on Monday.
Jack was born in Danville, Virginia on June 28, 1928, son of the late Barksdale and Emma (Jones) Echols. Jack married Louise Parker on December 5, 1947. They were married for 71 years when she predeceased him on May 16, 2019. He attended Shiloh Baptist Church. Jack retired from GM. He was avid gardener and enjoyed sharing his veggies with others. Most of all, Jack loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and other family members.
Jack is survived by his children, Howard (Debbie) Myers, Cindy (Tom) Snoblen, Danny Echols and Debbie (Wayne) Readman; 12 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; The family would like to thank Laura for the wonderful care she gave to their father. Jack is also survived by special friends, Bob and Gloria Dobbs, Larry and Mary Wales. Jack was preceded in death by his son, Fred (Patty) Myers and daughter-in-law, Tammy Echols.
