MOORE, Mr. William "Bill" - Age 80, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2012 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 502 Leith St., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Daniel Moore Host Pastor, Rev. Kenneth Moore, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:30 a.m. Friday. Mr. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon-8 p.m. Thursday.
Mr. William Moore was born February 10, 1932 in Flint, Michigan, the son of John C. and Mary Ann Moore. William attended Flint Public Schools. He worked for General Motors Fisher Body (Coldwater Rd.), and retired after 44 years of service. He truly loved the Lord and accepted Christ and was baptized in 1986 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church by the late Pastor Louis H. Mays. William loved watching television, shooting pool and washing cars. Mr. Moore was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Mr. William Moore leaves to cherish his memory: loving wife: Mrs. Elvira B. Moore; daughters, Marketta Moore, Patricia (Terry) Crews, Paulette (Robert) Haynie, Tamyla Byrd, Yah Monique Murphy; one son, Jaswah Byrd; grandchildren, Paris S. Boddie, Emiya Coffee, Jerimiah Coffee and London Byrd; 2 brothers, James and Kenneth “Cubby” Moore; special nieces, Delilah Thompson, Tonya( Melvin) Lewis, Vikki Thompson, Linda (Melvin) Hamilton and Kathy Byrd; nephews, Lawrence, Darwin (Rose), Wesley (Linda), Luther (Alaska), Michael, Arnold, Eric (Shelly), James (Darwin) and John Moore; best friend for many years, “Little Mike”; a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John C. and Mary Ann Moore; grandparents; sisters, Elaine D. Thompson and Shirley A. Swan; brothers, Robert C. Moore; Rev. Lawrence T. Moore, Sr., King and Hiram Moore; nephew, Sedric A. Stone and numerous loving family and friends.
