John T. Drimby, son of Tivador and Mary (Szegletes) Drimby died on June 12, 2024, at the age of 91. He was born May 31, 1933, in New Lothrop Michigan, and worked on his father’s farm until he graduated from Owosso High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army at the end of the Korean Conflict where he was stationed in Germany, working as a mechanic. John married Susanna Slezsak on September 8, 1956, in Flushing. His career as a tool and die maker for A.C. Spark Plug spanned over 47 Years, and in that time he provided for Susanna and his four children, by working overtime whenever it became available. He was very skilled at building and fixing things and always made himself available to help family. His interests included photography, gardening, travel, and was an avid student of theology and philosophy.
He is survived by Susanna, his wife of 67 years; children, John A. and his wife Charlotte Drimby, Christina and her husband Mark Hansen, Margie and her husband John Schaar, Timothy and his wife Holly Drimby; grandchildren, Vanessa, Frances, Jonathan, Corinne, Skyler, and Myles. Great Grandchildren: Morrison, Theodore, and Martha. He was preceded in death by his siblings Helen, Marie, and Mike. John was a good husband and father and was loved by all. He, with that beautiful smile, will be missed dearly.
A graveside service will be 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery. |
