EDDY, Ruth Onalee (Gay) – of Flint, MI, age 96, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2019. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Friday, August 23, 2019 and 10-11 AM Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society or a charity of one’s choice, in Ruth’s memory.
Ruth was born in Midland, MI on May 31, 1923, daughter of the late Henry and Lexie (Yeakle) Gay. She married Bernard Eddy on January 17, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Ruth retired from AC Spark Plug in 1987 after 38 years of service. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Her favorite place to visit was Grand Marais, MI and frequenting the casinos. Ruth also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, crocheting dish cloths and she was a huge hockey fan.
Ruth is survived by 6 children, Marcia Eddy, Paula (Tom) Morrison, Donna McDermitt, Pam (Bob) Vermette, Bernie (Chris) Eddy and Grant (Sandra) Eddy; 20 grandchildren, Tom (Kathy) Morrison, Teddy McDermitt, Dawn McDermitt, Nessa (Jason) Reed, Jason (Jen) McDermitt, Melanie (fiancé, Jeff Losey) Williams, Becky (John) Sukup, Jodi (Joe) Murar, Terri (fiancé, Kevin Palmer) June, Kyle (fiancée, Samantha Garcia) Eddy and Kody (Lisa) Eddy; 15 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, June Blake and Carolyn Penney; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Bernard Eddy; granddaughter, Kimberlee Morrison; great-granddaughter, Alyssa June; son-in-law, Teddy McDermitt; 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
