Irvin Dwaine Koch of Davison, age 92, died Saturday May 30, 2020 at the Pines of Burton. Private family services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday June 3, 2020 at Hansen Funeral Home Groves Chapel, Downtown Davison. Rev. BoRin Cho officiating, burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Due to CDC Guidelines of social distancing and limited gathering at one time, the family will receive visitors from 12:00 noon till 6:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home, the family understands those who may or may not want to join them and they respect their decisions. Those desiring may make contributions in Irvin’s memory to Gillette Children Hospital, St. Paul Minnesota.
Irvin was born in Grand Rapids Minnesota on December 27, 1927 the son of Chester & Mabel (Nelson) Canum and was adopted by Louis & Clara Koch in 1934. He has resided in the Davison area the last twenty years, spending most of his life in the Flint area. He was joined in marriage to Virginia Neale in 1952 and she preceded him in death in 1994. He married Maxine Cook-Hall in 1996. He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He was proud to be one of the nineteen Engineers to interface with China to help in the development of manufacturing system for the valve and rocker covers; he also helped AC Rochester provide the fuel system for the Opel vehicle. He retired from General Motors Chevrolet Division in 1990.
Surviving is wife Maxine, children: Kathy Beauchamp Larry and wife Senjana Koch, Patti and husband Terry Reen, and Judy Parr. He also leaves step-children: Brenda and husband Bob Knaack, Susan and husband Wayne McKenney, Michael and wife Sabrina Hall, and Timothy Hall.
