GILL-SMITH, Rita – Of Frankenmuth, age 75, died Sunday, June 18, 2017 at Covenant Medical Center in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 11AM, Friday, June 23, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Burial to follow in Birch Run Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 4PM until 8PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM.
Rita was born November 13, 1941 in Magdalena, Mexico to the late Mariano and Grezelda (Gonzales) Gamaz. She graduated from Bishop Conaty High School in Los Angeles, California in 1960. Rita married Wayne Smith on December 27, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She retired from General Motors in December of 1997 with 20 years seniority. Rita enjoyed reading books, watching birds, spending time with her great grandson, Ryker, and observing the beauty of nature.
Surviving are: Husband, Wayne D. Smith; Children: Barbara (Jeff) Guest, Dwayne Gill; Grandchildren: Mark Guest, Aaron Gill, Ryan Gill, Anthony Taylor; and 2 Great Grandchildren: Mya and Ryker. Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
