Ziegler, Lois, of Flint, age 87, died Monday, March 28, 2016, at McLaren-Flint. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at First Baptist Church in Flushing. Rev. Kenneth Sharp will officiate. Burial will follow at Ziegler Cemetery-Albee Township West. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Friday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or First Baptist Church.
Lois was born in Monroe, Michigan on August 30, 1928, the daughter of Leon and Inez (Zuhlke) Willoughby. She married Robert Ziegler on December 30, 1950, in Chesaning, Michigan. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2014. Lois was a member of the First Baptist Church in Flushing, Flushing Senior Center and Flushing Book Club. Lois graduated from Bay City Central in 1946, and received her Bachelor's degree from Central Michigan University in 1950 where she was a member of the Kappa Gamma Sorority. She was a second grade teacher for 35 years with Flushing Community Schools. Lois loved music and together with her husband, she enjoyed being a part of the New Horizons Band at the Flint Institute of Music where she played the clarinet. She also enjoyed reading, embroidery, baking cookies and spending her winters in Arizona.
Lois is survived by her daughters, Luanne (Rick) Knoth of Lake Orion, Deborah S. Grandas of Flushing; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Joyce Larner; nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Pat and Dave Young. |
