Age: 94
Community: Flint, MI

SHAHEEN, Rose Etta – Age 94, of Flint, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 23, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Rose was born in Flint on March 1, 1930, to Edward and Lula (Ferguson) Woodell. She married the love of her life, Shaheen Shaheen, on April 3, 1954, and together they raised six wonderful children who were the center of her world.

Rose's love for her family was boundless, and she was not only a devoted wife and mother but also a proud grandmother, great-grandmother, and even great-great-grandmother. Whether it was spending time with her beloved children and grandchildren, sharing stories, or spoiling them at the house on Pierson Road or the cottage at Houghton Lake, Rose’s heart was always full of love for her family.

Beyond her family, Rose had a zest for life that never waned. She loved to travel, but nothing brought her more joy than a Saturday spent shopping with her daughters—these outings were as much about bonding as they were about finding the perfect deal! Rose had a knack for making those around her feel special and cared for, often reminding everyone she met of the importance of family, kindness, and laughter.

She will be remembered as a woman who embraced life with open arms, who never missed an opportunity to make a memory, and whose generous spirit left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew her.

Rose is survived by her six children: Colette (Zack) Bunch, Laurie (John) Abdella, Tammy Burley, Shaheen T. Shaheen, Karen Shaheen, and Jennifer (Danny) Olsen; grandchildren Bryan (Brandy) Potter, Lisa Shaheen, Amy Shaheen, Jaime Burley, John Abdella, Michael (Megan) Burley, Kellie Shaheen, Lauren Abdella, Lindsey (Corey) Aitken, Daniel (Ben) Olsen, Madison and Jacob Pitcher; great-grandchildren Mikailyn Shaheen, Bryce Potter, Trevor Shaheen, Brynne Potter, Brianna Shaheen, CJ Renfro, Grayson, Tatum and Emersyn Aitken, and Easton and Weston Burley; and a great-great-grandchild, Aria Shaheen. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Joseph Shaheen and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Shaheen Shaheen, brothers, Edward (Edna) Woodell, Hubert (Eleanor) Woodell; sisters, Louise (Bill) Kleinhans, Geneva (Vay) Ingram, Ruby (Steve) Stevens; granddaughter Mary Abdella,
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Rd., Flint, with Bishop Gregory Mansour and Father Pierre Bassil co-officiating. Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
