GAINEY, Neva E. - Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Genesys Convalescent Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Monday, October 8, 2012 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc,
Father Ken Coughlin officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or Scleroderma Foundation.
Visitation 2-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint where a Vigil Service will be held 7pm Sunday evening. Neva will be at the church 10am Monday until the time of the Mass.
Neva was born in Fenton on March 15, 1922, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Neely.
Surviving are son Bill and wife Kathy Hartner of Swartz Creek;
grandchildren, Tami and husband Bob Grover of Swartz Creek and Amy and husband Mike Furey of Ann Arbor;
great-grandchildren, Stephen, Jessica, Bryan, Daniel, Nathan and Thomas;
great-great-granddaughter, Alexa;
sister, Joyce and husband Art Hansen of Fenton;
sisters-in-law, Betty Neely and Lois Neely;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wilfred Hartner in 1944 and her second husband, Robert Gainey in 2006 and nine siblings.
