MACKOS, Matthew Daniel - Of Flint, age 81, died Tuesday, December 4, 2012.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1pm Friday, December 7, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Road, Flint,

Father George Puthenpeedika officiating.

Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation 2-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Mr. Mackos will be at the church 12:30pm Friday until the time of the Mass.

Matthew was born in Flint on February 17, 1931 and was a resident of Flint all his life. Matthew proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was employed as a brick mason for many years and retired from General Motors AC in 1999. He was an avid golfer and member of Brookwood Golf Club. Matthew enjoyed baseball and football. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Surviving are best friend, Fay Walterhouse;

sister, Patricia Klein;

brother, Lawrence Mackos and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Margaret (Menosky) Mackos and sister, Donna Jenkins.

A thank you to the staff at The Pines of Burton and Avant-Age Hospice for all their care they gave to Matthew.
