SIMPSON, Richard Jay – of Flint, MI, age 67, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Rick’s Life will be held 12 PM Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Luigi’s Restaurant-El Toro’s Sports Bar, 2132 Davison Rd., Flint, MI 48506. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Rick’s memory.
Rick was born in Flint, MI on May 22, 1952, son of Shirley (Torrey) Spangler and the late Robert Simpson. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and listening to classic rock and Motown music.
Rick is survived by his wife, Theresa (Jobe) Simpson; 2 children, Alexander (Becky) Simpson and Brandy (Alex) Marsh; parents, Shirley (Ed) Spangler; 4 grandchildren, Jazmine Eads, Knowah Anderson, Taia Williams and Garrett Simpson; great-granddaughter, Nyomi Eads; brother, Bob (Karen) Simpson; 4 nephews, Paul (Angelina Cox) Simpson, James Perez, Michael Perez and Ned Powell; 5 nieces, Tiffanie Perez, Lisa Curtis, Kathy Simpson, Toni Jones-Fahey and Monica Simpson Taylor; brother-in-law, Bob Jones, sister-in-law, Melanie Simpson; canine companion, Harley; many other loving family members and life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Simpson; 3 siblings, Paul Simpson, John Simpson and Sherry Jones.
