VENTURINO, Donald Francis “Mr. Wonderful” - Of Flint, age 87, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, June 5, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,
Father Gary L. McInnis officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Visitation 2-4 and 5-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Friday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Donald was born March 16, 1928 in Calumet Michigan. He was the Son of Alma and Bart Venturino. Don married the love of his life Carol (Pflugi) Venturino on May 13, 1950 in Lake Linden Michigan. They moved to Flint and together they created a wonderful life and loving family. He retired from General Motors Buick Powerhouse after 54 years. Don was also a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Don enjoyed a good joke and he celebrated St. Donald’s Day, a holiday he created to celebrate himself, every year. In recent years he most enjoyed spending time with his family, especially great-grandchildren Louis and Emily.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Wife Carol, Brothers Bernard, John (Carol) Venturino, and Robert (Myrna) Venturino, Sisters Mary (Donald) Sweeney & Lucile Venturino, niece Kristin Venturino, and nephew Kevin Pini.
Don is survived by his children James (Chris) Venturino, William (Karen) Venturino, and Karen (Edward) Marsh, as well as Sisters Beatrice Venturino, Judy (Charles) Blenchia and Brother Raymond Venturino. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. The family would also like to thank his friends for the love and support they have given him in recent years.
