Belill, Lucile C. of Flushing, age 105, was welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord on Monday, November 14, 2016, at her home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2016, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Fr. Phil Schmitter will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Prayer Center, Christ the King Catholic Church, Flint or St. Pius X Catholic Church, Flint.
Lucile was born on a winter's night at her family farmhouse in Flushing, Michigan on February 18, 1911. She was the youngest of six children born of Warren and Clara (Birchmeier) Darby. She met Thomas J. Belill and was married into the loving Belill family on June 9, 1942, at St. Robert Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 22, 1949. Lucile graduated from Flushing High School in 1929 and later received her Bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. She taught for 40 years in Swartz Creek and Flint. She was a member of Iota Nu-Pi Omicron Charitable Sorority. Lucile was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed various crafts. As a single mother, she made sure to make every holiday and special occasion memorable for her daughter and she was very involved with her grandson, who was the light of her life.
Lucile leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter, Andrea and husband Zenith Anson; grandson, Drew and wife Katie Anson; great-grandchildren, Jack and Emma Anson. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Isabel Pettman, George Darby, Arthur Darby, Cyrus Darby and Adelaide Terry.
