FLEWWELLING, Wilma Marie – of Flint, age 86, passed away July 3, 2016 at Heartland Health Care Center-Briarwood. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 3222 S Genesee Rd, Burton; Pastor Daniel Wonderly officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday at church. Memorial Contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Arthritis Foundation.
Wilma was born in Elmira, Ontario, Canada on October 22, 1929, daughter of the late Orville and Edith (Wiegel) Ecsh. She married John Flewwelling on April 10, 1948 and he preceded her in death in 2004. Wilma was formerly a member of Calvary Lutheran Church on Franklin Ave. She was a realtor for Huggler Realty for several years and a Crochet and Knitting Teacher for the Mott Foundation. Wilma loved spending time spoiling her grandchildren. She took great care in getting them “sugared up” and sending them home. Wilma enjoyed gardening and tending to her roses around the house.
Wilma is survived by her children, Margaret (Rob) Studaker, Wayne (Suzan) Flewwelling, Grant (Sherry) Flewwelling, John (Cindy) Flewwelling; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Parnham; brother-in-law, Jim Burke. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Eleanor Burke, Lorraine (Harry) Forbes.
