Garcia, Raul B., age 85, of Flint, Michigan passed away on September 8, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his family. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 2316 W. Coldwater Rd., Flint, MI. Fr. Cecilo Reyna and Edwardo Lorenzo officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be Monday, September 10, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI and Tuesday, September 11, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Church. A Rosary will be Prayed 7:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Church. Mr. Garcia was born on August 17, 1927 in Orange Grove, Texas to Domingo and Francisca Garcia. He served in the US Army from 1945-1946 and then served in the US Air Force from 1946 - 1947. On July 25, 1948, he married Rosa Ena Garcia in Benavidez, Texas, and moved to Flint, Michigan in 1956. After 31 years, he retired from General Motors in 1988. Mr. Garcia was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church for 56 years. He was a member of numerous church organizations some of which included St. Vincent de Paul, the Fiesta Committee, Club Misionero, the Parish Council, Caballeros de San Juan, Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, and the Ushers Club. He always enjoyed being in his garden, working in his flower beds, watching the Price is Right and the Detroit Tigers, deer hunting, fishing, bird watching, making bird houses, doing word searches, making rosaries, joking around, and getting together with his family every Sunday after mass. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of 64 years, Rosa Ena. Children, Lydia (Victor) Gatica; Raul (Kathy) Garcia; Maria (Peter) Shuart; Ramon Garcia; Roel Garcia; and Monica (Dwight) Neisler. 12 grandchildren, Stephanie, Tony, David, Monica (Michael), Crystal (Carlos), Amanda (Brian), Andrea (John), Ashley, Ryan, K.C. (Forrest), Jordan, and Dylan. 9 great grandchildren, Cassandra, Gabriel, Michaela, Ella, Aiden, Helaina, Marisol, Jack, and Lincoln. He is also survived by his younger brother, Arturo of Corpus Christi, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Maria Elma (1949-1956), his parents and siblings, Manuela, Antonio, Juan, Petra, Otilia, Teresa and Noe.
