OWENS, Larry W. - Of Flint, age 72, died Thursday, May 26, 2016
at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 6-8pm Friday at the funeral home.
Larry was born in Lexington, North Carolina on September 30, 1943, the son of the Harold and Lilly Owens. On June 30, 1995, he married Mary Hall. Larry served in the United States Army and National Guard with 2 combat tours in Vietnam. He was a disabled Vet. He received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. Larry was a military history buff. He was employed with General Motors Metal Fab for over 40 years.
Surviving are wife, Mary;
Son, Tony;
Daughter, Tonia (Michael) Denton;
4 grandchildren, Tonia, Anthony and Brienna Owens and Dante Lozano.
