Medicus, Dorothy Ann "Dot" - Age 90, of Fenton, died Sunday, November 10, 2019. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, November 14 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Interment in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with a 7 PM Rosary Wednesday. Visitation will be 10 AM until the time of Mass Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Chapel Restoration Fund. Dorothy was born January 26, 1929 in Detroit the daughter of Charles and Clementine (Michael) Ambabo. She was a graduate of St. Benedict Grade School in Highland Park, Girls Catholic Central High School in Detroit, and St. Joseph Mercy Hospital's Mercy College in Detroit with a degree in nursing. She married Lawrence G. Medicus on May 26, 1951 in Detroit; he preceded her in death April 22, 2006. They had resided in Fenton since 1963. Dot was an active member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, St. Catherine's Guild and the DAV Auxiliary. Surviving are: daughter Michele (Thomas) Hardesty of Xenia, OH; son Michael Medicus of Flint; grandchildren, Patrick (Beth) Hardesty of Sabina, OH, Nicole (Michael) Bain of New Vienna, OH, Rachel Medicus of Avon Park, FL, Ashley (Trevor) Hetcel of Byron; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Charles; and sister Joan. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
