Mr. Kenneth Myron Taylor, age 81 of Gaylord, passed away October 5, 2010 at Boulder Park Terrace in Charlevoix.
Mr. Taylor was born in Otsego County on January 29, 1929 to Hugh “Butch” and Flossie (Sawyer) Taylor. He was one of five children, two of which preceded him in death, Esther who died in infancy; and Hugh James Taylor.
Ken graduated high school in 1947 and married Mary Lou Sommers in Pittsburgh, PA on July 17, 1950, she survives him.
He was employed at Standard Products in Gaylord for 42 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Mary (Steve) Tomaski, Kenneth (Rose Ann Francis) both of Gaylord, and Cindy Taylor of Petoskey; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Kathryn Szocinski of Gaylord, and Loretta (Ken) Bradley of Yuma, AZ; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will take place on Monday, October 18th at 1:30 p.m. from the Charlton Twp. Hall in Johannesburg, MI.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Kenneth Taylor may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the VFW, through the Nelson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1548, Gaylord, MI 49734.
