Edward Pearson Myers left this earth and joined his Heavenly Father on Friday March 15, 2013 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI. He was born in Cleveland, OH on November 25, 1925 to Fred and Edna Blake Myers. Ed, or Ted, as he was known to family and close friends, grew up in the Detroit area and graduated from Highland Park High School. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II in the Pacific theater as a Staff Sargent. Ed married Josephine “Jo” Bopp on April 12, 1951. Together they had three sons, Paul, Tom, and Bob. They raised their family first in Garden City, and then moved to Lake Shannon in 1965 where they resided for many years. Ed spent his entire career at General Motors working at Willow Run and then Fisher Body in Grand Blanc and retiring with over 30 yrs. of service. He also served on the zoning board for Tyrone Township for many years. He and Jo moved from the lake to Shiawassee Shores in Linden in 1993. He continued to reside there after Jo’s death in 2003. Ed married Margaret McCausland on August 20, 2005 in Linden, where they resided until moving to Wynwood Assisted Living of Grand Blanc. She preceded him in death on July 12, 2012. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Linden. Ed is survived by his children Paul(Shelley) Myers of Markstay, Ontario, Tom(Laurie) Myers of Mt.Pleasant, Bob(Kathy)Myers of Shepherd; grand children Jason(Deb) Myers, Laurel Myers, Brian(Veronica) Myers, Andy(Britney) Myers, Steve(Sarita) Myers, Scott Myers and eight great-grand children; step children Nancy(Charlie) Green of Fenton, Tom(Laura) McCausland of Rochester, Mary (Ronald) Sieracki of Holland, and William(Karen) McCausland of Ft. Loudin, PA. A Memorial service will be held for Ed on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Linden Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Linden Presbyterian Church or to a charity of your choice. |
