COLLES, Brett M. – Of Burton, age 48, died after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery with Military Honors at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Brett was born in Flint, Michigan on July 1, 1964 and was a resident of Burton.
Mr. Colles retired from the United States Air Force as Master Sergeant, after 23 1/2 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Chloe Colles and Grace Ann Colles;
parents, Sharron (DeGeer) and Robert Lee Colles Sr. of Burton;
girlfriend, Patty Whitman;
sister, Colleen(Kathy Zulauf) Colles of Long Mount, Colorado;
brothers, Robert (Christy) Colles Jr. of Eagle River, Alaska and
Darryl Colles of Olympia, Washington;
also survived by twin nephews, James and Robert Colles and nephew, Tanner Parker; niece, Mikayla Parker;
best friends, Ken Townsley, Master Sergeant, Don Brown and Matt Krepp, with whom he loved to hunt and fish.
