DENO, Mable B. (Burke) – of Flint, MI, age 87, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Tanner Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-2 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home.
Mable was born in Dexter, Missouri on May 12, 1936, daughter of the late Clyde and Bertha (Triplett) Burke. She married Arlie Eugene Deno in 1977 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 1998. Retiring from Kelsey-Hayes, Fenton, MI in 2006 after years of dedicated service, Mable brought diligence and passion to every task. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, spending countless hours fishing, cruising on boats, and feeling the wind on her face while riding motorcycles. Before Mable’s retirement, she honed her craft at Ed Cummings, Inc., where she skillfully crafted fishing lures and nets, sharing her love of fishing with the world. Mable's talents were not confined to the workplace. She had a knack for culinary delights, renowned for her mouthwatering banana pudding, juicy cheeseburgers, and comforting biscuits and gravy. Her pineapple upside-down cake, baked to perfection in a cast iron skillet, was a testament to her culinary prowess and brought joy to all who indulged. An avid Detroit Tigers fan, Mable could often be found cheering on her beloved team with unwavering enthusiasm. Mable's presence brought light and joy into the lives of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
Mable is survived by 3 children, Lucinda (Todd) Woods, Randy (Lisa) Layton and Cricket (Traci) Deno; 9 grandchildren, Karissa (Scott) Pupava, Noah Layton, Amber (Ryan) Naughton, Chad (Randi) Woods, Kacie Sisco, Shauna (Chris) Caldwell, Kayla (Shane) Herring, Ray Deno and Cory (Jaime) Deno; 9 great-grandchildren, Annika, Kyra, Kane, Addi, Harper, Gavin, Emma, Tristen and Liam; 2 siblings, Velma Glenn and Earl Burke; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Bertha Burke; first husband, Fred J. Layton; second husband, Arlie Deno; grandson, Kyle Lincoln Kinney; 3 sisters, Martha, Thelma and Ruth; 3 brothers, Burrell, Paul and James; brother-in-law, Floyd Glenn and sister-in-law, Ruth Burke.
