KESSLER, William F., Jr. - of Goodrich, age 63, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue in Flint, Father Robert Copeland officiating. Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Powers Catholic High School or the Olivia F. Murray Foundation. Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Friday at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A rosary, conducted by the St. Mary Catholic Church Knights of Columbus, will be prayed at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Kessler will be at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Mr. Kessler was born in Flint, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and also the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Kessler retired from EDS with 44 years of service. Surviving are his children, Robert and wife Nicole of Naperville, Illinois, Timothy and wife Marsha of Swartz Creek, Julie and husband Benjamin Hamlin of Fenton and Fiodor Kessler of Goodrich; grandchildren, Joseph, Benjamin, Margaret, Austin, Ryan, Owen and Luke; sisters, Patricia and husband Lanny Edmonds, Debbie and husband Mike Drudge all of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Arlene Kessler; and sister, Kathleen Ferguson. A special thanks to Dr. Katato and staff.
