FORTNER, Mildred Lois – of Clio, age 88, died Saturday, May 11, 2019 at her home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Bill Christensen officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions can be made to Humane Society of Genesee County.
Mildred was born September 10, 1930 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to the late Louis and Alberta (Malone) Davis. She grew up in Marked Tree, Arkansas and graduated from Atherton High School. On October 29, 1949 she married Robert L. Fortner in Flint, Michigan and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2008. Mildred enjoyed puzzles, ceramics, latch hook and going to lunch with friends. She also liked to traveling, gardening, and going to the casino with her husband.
Surviving are: Children, Gregory (Lila) Fortner, Richard Fortner, Brenda (Ronnie) Martin, Gail (Matt) Blades; Grandchildren, Steven Fortner, Lisa (Chris) Drendall, Tiffany Peeler, Chad Blades, Chelsea Blades; Great Grandchildren, Landon Drendall, Sebastian Foster; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Robert Fortner; Daughter in law, Esther Fortner; Siblings, Louis Davis, Helen Woodall, Gloria McCurdy.
