Rita was born in Flint, Michigan on December 23, 1935. She was the youngest daughter of Albert and Vera (Kelly) Primeau. She graduated from St. Mary Catholic School in Flint and worked at O’Connor’s Drug Store. Rita was a member of the Flint Toby Club, where she met her loving husband, Paul. They married June 17, 1961, and shared 50 blissful years before Paul died in 2012.

She was an active parishioner of St. Pius X Church for over 50 years, where she was a member of the St. Pius Guild, Altar Society, Tuesday Toasters and was a parish and school volunteer for many years. Rita was also a founding member of Powers Mother’s Club, and volunteered alongside her husband at North End Soup Kitchen for over 20 years. Her strong faith guided her to help others.

Rita loved to visit her family cottage in Standish and travel to the East Coast to visit her extended family. She loved her season tickets to the Flint Symphony Orchestra and Flint Community Players. She enjoyed the camaraderie of her friends from St. Pius X Church, and especially her lifelong friends, Patricia Tahy, Carolyn Studer, Gail McCuaig and Joy Margerit.

Rita, along with her family, hosted the annual Rinoldo Family Crim Breakfast on her front lawn in support of the Crim Road Race. The event each year brought families and neighbors together from all over the country to support the athletes and Special Olympics. The Rinoldo Family banner reminded all the runners that “It is all downhill from here!”

Rita’s loves were her children, Pamela Rinoldo-Dikos, Debra Rinoldo-Hopkins (Todd), Michael Rinoldo (Stephanie); 7 grandchildren, Margaret Dikos, R. Stephen Dikos II, Victoria Hopkins, Michael Rinoldo II, Joseph Rinoldo, Thomas Rinoldo and Alex Rinoldo. She also leaves numerous nieces and nephews.

Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Horatio P. Rinoldo; her son, Paul A. Rinoldo and grandson, Matthew J. Rinoldo. Rita was also preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Vera; her sister, Margaret (Richard) Cashin, Elaine (Ramon) Church and her brother, John “Jack” Primeau.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Edward Gomez, Dr. S. Richard DeNardo, Homestead HealthCare at Woodhaven and Evergreen Health Services and Hospice.
