HELSEL, Faye Louise – of Clio, age 93, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at McLaren Hospital in Flint. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 25, 2018 at Bethany United Methodist Church. Pastor Roger Gedke officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 1-8 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home and on Monday from 10AM until time of service at the church. An Order of Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 7:00 PM Sunday, by the Vienna Chapter # 283. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to McLaren Hospice, Bethany United Methodist Church, American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
Faye was born May 5, 1925 in Bellwood, Pennsylvania to the late Charlie and Lydia (Wood) Jackson. She grew up in Bellwood and graduated from Bellwood Antis Township High School with the class of 1943. On June 17, 1948 she married George Helsel and he preceded her in death in January of 1981. Faye was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Eastern Stars Vienna Chapter, and the Michigan Bishop Sewing Council. She enjoyed reading, knitting, TV game shows, and spending time with all her grandchildren. Faye has traveled to all 50 states and also been to Europe.
Surviving are: Children, Deborah (Ed) Simon, Geroge (Joyce) Helsel; Grandchildren, Carrie Ann (Tony) Marinelli, Brian (Julia) Smith, Sydney Pauline Helsel, Madison Faye Helsel; Great Grandchildren, Henry Marinelli, Charlie Smith, Hannah Smith; nieces and nephews; Special Friend, Robin Fish, and many good friends throughout the years.
