COLLISON, Elizabeth K. (Armstrong) – Of Grand Blanc, age 96, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at her residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide, Fenton, Father David Harvey officiating. Burial in St. John Cemetery in Fenton. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John Catholic Church in Fenton. Visitation 2-8 p.m Tuesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Collison will be at the church from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the Mass. Mrs. Collison was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 30, 1915, the daughter of the late Silas Raymond and Kathryn (Cooney) Armstrong.
She married Thomas Wilson Collison on February 5, 1938 at St. Mary's Cathedral Church in Saginaw, Michigan, he passed away on April 12, 1992. Mrs. Collison attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Saginaw, and St. Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, where she graduated Valedictorian. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton for 70 years. She was active in the Altar Society. Mrs. Collison retired as an accountant and part owner of Marshal Auto Company and was also an accountant for Flint Citizens in Flint. Surviving are one son, Thomas W. Collison Jr. (Bobbette Rush) of Grand Blanc; four daughters, Kathey Hawes, Shirley (Don) Morgan, Susan Matison, all of Fenton and Mary Brunsden-Prain, of Macomb, MI; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.
