HOOKS, Margaret M. - Of Flushing, age 94, died Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Avalon Hospice.
A private family Celebration of Margaret’s Life will be held at a later date.
Cremation has taken place.
Margaret was born in Lapeer County on February 6, 1918, daughter of Harry and Vina Steward. Margaret had been a resident of the Flint and Flushing area since leaving Lapeer in 1936. She was a longtime member of Oak Park Methodist Church and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Tawas Bay, Chapter #71. Margaret was employed as a Nurse at Hurley Medical Center and Flint Osteopathic Hospital for 10 years, retiring in 1973. She was also a Senior Advocate in Glennie, MI.
Surviving are children, Carl R. and wife Karen Hooks of Wyoming, MI, Gail and husband Bruce Lannon of Flushing, Sharilyn Crow of Flint;
son-in-law, James Wilson;
grandchildren, Michelle Renaud and fiancé Dennis, Michael and wife Caryn Lannon, Melissa and husband Michael Karas, Matthew and wife Marie Wilson, Andrew Hooks and Laura, Kevin and wife Jennifer Lannon, Bradley Crow and fiancée Morgan;
great-grandchildren, Connor and Avery Lannon, Benjamin and Karlee Hooks, Clayton Cooper and Finneas Lannon;
sister, Doris Freeman;
several very special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judith Wilson, grandson Brian Crow, parents and 12 sisters and brothers.
