BAKSA, Murlene “Chris” (Hoover) – age 87, of Mt. Morris, MI, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 11110 North Saginaw Street, Mt. Morris, MI 48458; Rev. Fr. Thomas Nenneau celebrant. Interment will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery on a later date. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-2 PM and 4-8 PM Friday, June 2, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Saturday, June 3, 2017 at St. Mary Catholic Church. A Scripture Service will be held 7 PM Friday, June 2, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary Catholic Church, in Chris’s memory.
Chris was born in West Frankfort, IL on May 12, 1930, daughter of the late Kelly and Elsie (McClerrean) Hoover. She married Joseph Baksa on September 27, 1958 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Flint, MI. Chris was an Avon representative, employed with GMI and retired from the Ternstedt Division of General Motors. She was an accomplished painter and loved camping and fishing.
Chris is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Joe; 2 children, Kim (Mark) Edwards and Todd (Jerry Ballard) Baksa; beloved canine companion, Brandy; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Wilma Marcella Sweetin, Robert Harold Hoover, Loretta “Pat” Hoover and Carlson “Carson” Hoover.
