Monte was born in Eva Alabama, January 2, 1936. She has been married to Winfred (Bill) Morgan for 58-years and they raised two children, Donna (Mark) Gervais and Kerry (Michele) Morgan. She loved her family and adored spending time with her Grandchildren and (Great Grandchildren) Alyson, fiancé' Rick (Taylor, Ethan, Brooklyn, Colton, Caitlin & Chase) Brooks and Reese. Heather, husband Gregg (Trenton, Carter & Cooper) Rachel, husband Josh (Owen, Natalie & Keira) and Lyndsay. Monte was a happy, fun-loving, people-person. Everyone who met Monte loved her, with her constant smile, southern charm, sense of humor and her enthusiastic and encouraging ways! She was actively involved in her community for over 50-years, SC Sports Boosters, Girl-Scouts, Fund-Raising, and the Women's Club beautification efforts. She also loved her Spiritual family at the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church where she enjoyed volunteering and was passionate about the Food Pantry, Youth Programs and recruiting and organizing volunteers for Church events and funeral dinners. Monte managed the Lucille Allen Dress Shop for 14-years and later enjoyed starting and running a sports-card, stained-glass, collectibles shop for many years side-by-side with her husband, Bill. She had a blast bowling and golfing with her friends for over 30-years! "Grandma" was an enthusiastic fan and cheerleader for her grandkids. She cherished their artwork, plays and writings or just spending time baking and playing with them. If you didn't know Monte, she was the old gal yelling the loudest in the stands at their sporting events! Those were some of the proudest and most fun moments of her life. Monte is survived by her husband and two sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, Monte's sincere wish is a donation to either the Swartz Creek United Methodist Church for the Youth Missions or Food Pantry, Powers Catholic Football (in honor of this year's Team #43), or Swartz Creek Center Stage. Monte and family wish to thank the McLaren Cancer Center and Hospice Nurses and everyone for all of their love, prayers, gifts, support AND for the 267 get-well cards (but who's counting?) that she received from her loving relatives, friends, neighbors and fellow Church Members. God bless you all. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
