GOULD, Doyle Edward - age 73, of Flushing, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at McLaren - Flint. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Pastor Lawrence Gill officiating. Interment will follow at Bendle Cemetery. Visitation will be held 11 AM - 9 PM Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). Mr. Gould was born September 5, 1942 in Durand, the son of Percy Edward and Leota Mary (Parker) Gould. He was a 1960 graduate of Swartz Creek High School and married Lois Ann Eller on December 9, 1961. Mr. Gould retired from GM Chevrolet V-8 Plant in 2000 after 37 years of service. He was a member and committeeman of U.A.W. Local 659. Doyle was a sign language interpreter for the union and other events. He also taught labor history at local high schools and colleges. He enjoyed golfing and hunting and was an avid reader. Surviving are: wife, Lois Ann Gould of Flushing; three daughters, Christine (Jeffery) White of Flushing, Barbara Staley (Keith Draper) of Grand Rapids, Deanna (Ronald) Huber of Flushing; seven grandchildren and three great-grandsons; sister, Darleen Carter of TN; brother, Dennis (Carole) Gould of Swartz Creek; uncle, Robert Gould of Swartz Creek; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents; son-in-law, Richard Staley; brother, Douglas Gould; brothers-in-law, George Carter and Louis Torok.
