Perkins, Robert Delos - of Montrose, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 surrounded by wife of 55 years, Peggy Dawn Ouillette and his children. Funeral services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Flint, on Saturday November 25, 2017, at 11AM. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose from 4-8PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
Robert was born in Flint on August 9th, 1939. He was the son of Delos and Julia (Jewell) Perkins. Robert married Peggy Dawn Ouillette on November 17, 1962. Mr. Perkins graduated from Kersley High School, Flint, and attended Flint Junior College for two years. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1962 to 1970. Robert worked as a store manager for Robert Hall Clothing for 18 years and retired from General Motors as a repairman after 28 years at the Cadillac Plant, Grand Blanc. He was an antique car enthusiast and participated in many area car shows. In his earlier years he was a member of the Swartz Creek Jaycees.
Surviving are: Wife, Peggy, Daughters; Debra Stone of Unicoi, TN, Veronica Lee (Dale) of Sandusky, OH, Michelle Shmidt (Dan) of Montrose, MI; Son, Brendon Perkins (Thomas Papademetriou) of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren Amanda Whicker (Jonathan), Meagan Stone, Michael Stone, Brooke and Brandon Lee, Cole and Nolan Shmidt. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, in-laws and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Grant Perkins.
