LOVELACE, Kerry Gwen (Peterson) – of Davison, MI age 69, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Friday, May 24, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Interment 2:30 PM Friday, May 24, 2024 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. The family will receive visitors 5-7 PM Thursday, May 23, 2024 and 11 AM-12 PM Friday, May 24, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home.
Kerry was born in Lafayette, IN on March 31, 1955, daughter of Kenneth and Patricia (Rariden) Peterson. She was a graduate of Linden High School Class of 1973. On October 26, 1996, Kerry married Kenny Lovelace. Kerry devoted 27 years of her life to General Motors Buick, where she served as a Journeyman Millwright until her retirement in 2003. Her commitment and skill left an indelible mark on her colleagues and the company alike. Beyond her professional endeavors, Kerry's heart was filled with a profound love for her family and animals, particularly dogs, who found a special place in her heart. Her passion for adventure led her on countless journeys, whether it was through hunting expeditions, traveling to distant lands, or simply embarking on spontaneous road trips. Kerry's vibrant spirit and zest for life were infectious, bringing joy to all those fortunate enough to share in her adventures. In addition to her pursuits, Kerry remained an active member of the UAW Buick Local #599, where she fostered lifelong connections and contributed to the betterment of her community. Kerry will be remembered fondly for her warmth, her laughter, and the love she shared with those around her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Kerry is survived by her husband, Kenny Lovelace; 2 daughters, Korri (Ernest) Stimac and Kelli (Dwayne) Gunnels; 2 grandsons, Joshua Stimac and Kenneth Stimac; 3 granddaughters, Madison (Zach) Daniel, Anna Gunnels and Heidi Gunnels; 2 great-grandchildren, River and Koe; parents, Kenneth and Patricia Peterson; 2 siblings, Andrew (Lori) Peterson and Audrey (George) Kline; 2 aunts, Karen MacArthur and Marty Malcomb; many other loving family members and dear friends.
