MATEJCEK, BERNIECE (PATRICK) age 94, died Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Kra-Nur Manor. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Faith Tabernacle, 1225 S Center Rd, Burton, MI 48509, with visitation from 11:30 AM until the time of service. Pastor Bruce Garner and Pastor Jerry Pruitt are officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, MI. Interment at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Berniece was born November 1, 1922 in Hardin County, OH, to parents Paris and Ella (Joseph) Patrick. Berniece graduated from Harold Auglaize High School in 1939 and attended Northwest Business College in Lima, OH. She took audit classes from the Owosso Bible College and attended the Flint branch of Toledo Bible College. She became an ordained minister in 1943 at the age of 21. Berniece was an Evangelist for four years with the Pentecostal Church of God, Joplin, MO. She also was Pentecostal Young People Association President for the Great Lakes District from 1947 to 1951, traveling States of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Northern Illinois. Berniece began Pastoring Faith Tabernacle June 15, 1952 until June 15, 1990. She performed over 3000 weddings, funerals, and baby dedications. She then became Pastor Emeritus. She married Joseph Matejcek February 9, 1951 in Ann Arbor, MI, who passed away May 22, 1989. Surviving are son David and wife Donna; granddaughter Rebecca and husband Winston, and great grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the Berniece Matejcek Memorial Fund. |
