KVAL, Erwin O. - Of Grand Blanc, age 82, died Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 21, 2011 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church, 9020 South Saginaw, Grand Blanc,
The Reverend George L. Cleaves, Jr. officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to the Mott Community College Foundation.
Visitation 5-8p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Mr. Kval will be at the church 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
Erwin was born in Lisbon, North Dakota on July 11, 1929, and was a resident of Genesee County since 1957. Erwin served in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion. He married Donah Lewis in 1958. Erwin graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of North Dakota and a Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin. Mr. Kval was a Math Professor at Mott Community College retiring in 1991 and was a lifetime member of the National Education Association and the Michigan Education Association. He was also an avid bowler.
Surviving are wife, Donah;
children, Patricia and husband Kevin Bainbridge and Timothy and wife Tanya Kval;
grandchildren, Joshua, Meghan, Collin, Patrick, Evan, Keaton, Karston, and Katya;
and Sister, Ellen Kval.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Drumm, sisters, Elaine Hovet and Elsie Lundy and parents, Edwin and Ella Kval.
