HARLAN, Eloise J. – of Oscoda, formerly of Davison, age 88, passed away January 17, 2013 at her residence. A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI; Rev. Debbie Line officiating. Burial will follow in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Sunday and 9-10 a.m. Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to any cancer or veteran related organization of the donor’s choice.
Eloise was born in Flint on March 13, 1924, daughter of the late John and Amy (Floria) Bright. She was a resident of Davison for 70 years. Eloise Bright married Norman “Buzz” Harlan on July 6, 1946 at Davison United Methodist Church. They enjoyed 35 years together prior to Buzz’ death in 1981. Eloise was a member of American Legion Post #267, a lifetime member of VFW 3735, the Eagles of Davison-Lodge 3539 and the IOOF 214 Ardell Rebekah Lodge. She retired from the Davison School System as their Food Service Director.
Eloise is survived by her sons, Gary (Chrissy) Harlan and Tracy Harlan (Janice Dombrowski); grandchildren, Michelle (Scott) Bradford, Michael (Brynn) Harlan, Troy (Aimee) Harlan, Krystal Harlan, Daniel (Candice) Rowland and Sean (Kim) Rowland; great-grandchildren, Kade, Codey, Emilee, Bailee, Beau, Natalee, Ty, Westley and Zachary; brother-in-law, Richard Harlan; sister-in-law, Joyce Minto; several nieces and nephews; many dear friends, especially Linda Mason, Cheryl Boris, Robert D. Akers and Eloise’s Davison Lady (Deer) Hunters. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thede Bright and companion, John Akers.
