PILLEN, Dorothy Jean - Of Flint, age 85, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Friday, March 31, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,
Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Entombment at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to GCARC.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Friday at church until the time of the Mass.
Dorothy was born in Flint on September 20, 1931. She married Maynard Pillen on June 10, 1950. Mrs. Pillen was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
Surviving are 9 children, Larry of Flint, David and wife Pat of Burton, Karen and husband William Dutil of Grand Blanc, Kurt and wife Wanda of Tennessee, Joan and husband Cal Warner of Clio, Denise Kelley of Tennessee, Robert and wife Michelle of Brighton, Renee Pillen of Flint and John of Tennessee;
20 Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren;
sister, Virginia Neustedt of Flint;
niece, Susan Stefanski;
sister-in-law, Maxine Merritt of Davison;
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maynard, in 1999; sons, J. Maynard Pillen and Mark Pillen; parents, Joseph and Anna Stefanski, brother, Joseph D. Stefanski and brother-in-law, Norman Neustedt.
