VETTE, Donna J. - of Chesaning, age 90, died Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Chesaning Nursing Care Center. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2PM Friday, August 4, 2017 at Mt. Sinai Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montrose. Family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 1PM until the time of service at 2PM. Inurnment to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Donna was born March 25, 1927 in Montrose, Michigan to the late Nelson and Eliza (Hoskins) Cooper. She married Leon Powell on August 11, 1945. He preceded her in death in 1972. Donna later married Homer Vette on July 30, 1974. He preceded her in death November 26, 2006. She was a member of Mt. Sinai Evangelical Lutheran Church in Montrose. Donna enjoyed playing Bingo, cooking, and spending her winters in Florida. Above all, Donna loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Sandra (Ron) Six, Sharon (Robert) Brandt, Gail (Russell) Dodge, David (Cindy) Powell, Vicki Erlenbeck, William (Kristine) Vette, Shelly (Bruce) Falconer, Susan (Douglas) Noble, and Jan (Donald) Reinhardt; Many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; Several nieces, and nephews; Special loving sister who took care of Donna every day, Irene Cooper; Brothers in law: Jim DeBolt, and Paul Wooley. Donna was also preceded in death by her sisters: Neva Herman, and Beulah Shook; Brothers: Dale, Donald, and Glen Cooper.
