ESHBAUGH, Raymond “Ray” Edward – of Davison, age 84, passed away October 3, 2014 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, October 10, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. P. Thomas Wachterhauser and Rev. Kevin Miles co-officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held in Davison Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Thursday and 10-11 AM Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or a favorite charity of one’s choice.
Ray was born in Flint, MI on January 16, 1930, son of the late Jesse E. and Irma (Shank) Eshbaugh. He graduated from Flint Central High School in 1949. Ray served his country with the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953.He married Colleen Rowe on August 21, 1954 at St. John’s United Church in Campbellford, Ont., Canada. Ray was a member for several years of the Davison United Methodist Church. He served as Tool and Die apprentice at AC Spark Plug (Delphi) before retiring in 1985 after working 36 years for General Motors. Ray moved to Davison with his wife, Colleen and two children in 1968. He enjoyed travelling, fishing and hunting, belonging to the Orchard Club Hunting Lodge of Montmorency County. Ray spent many hours fishing out at his cottage on Miller Lake near Lapeer.
Ray is survived by his wife, Colleen; daughters, Lou Anne (Jon) Bauldry and Barbara (Virgil) Hutchinson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, D. Jean Henry; brother, James E. Eshbaugh; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law, George Meades and Donald R. Henry; sister-in-law, Marnie Meades; nephew, Stephen Meades; great-grandson, Timothy Hool.
