CALLAHAN, Lawrence "Larry" Joseph - Age 83, of Lennon, died Sunday, September 24, 2017. Visitation will be held 12PM-2PM Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Lawrence was born in Flint, on January 7, 1934, the son of the late Joseph Bernard and Helen Louise (Zunner) Callahan. Lawrence married Eleanor Irene Sanderson on June 27, 1953 in Flint. Mr. Callahan graduated from St. Michaels Catholic School in 1953 and retired from General Motors A.C. Spark Plug Division with 42 years of service. Larry was a member of U.A.W. Local 651. He enjoyed hunting and was always referred at during deer camp as the "Cook". Larry also enjoyed sports and was an avid fan of the Detroit Lions, Tigers and the Michigan Wolverines. Surviving are; wife of 65 years, Eleanor Callahan of Lennon; daughters, Lynne (Jerry Persails) Adkins of Davison, Debbie (Mike) Callahan of Sanford, Denise (Rick) Kenel of Lennon and Lori (Robert Emerson) Callahan of FLint. He is also survived by several grand and great grandchildren and nephew, Eddie (Mary) Keatting. Larry was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Callahan and sister, Jean Keatting.
