GILBERT, Darla J. - Of Flint, age 71, died Friday, December 14, 2012 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Tuesday, December 18, 2012
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Joel McCrandall officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 12-8pm Monday at the funeral home.
Darla was born in Newberry, Michigan on July 18, 1941, the daughter of the late Joseph and Pearl Weiss.
Mrs. Gilbert worked at Flint Tent and Awning and Thunder and Colt for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, sewing and cooking.
She will sadly be missed by many, but now she will never be alone again.
She walked through the gates of Heaven to be greeted by God and her late husband of 46 years, leaving behind those who loved her deeply;
children, Chip, Carla and husband Tim Hathaway, Darrin and wife Erika;
grandchildren, Corey and girlfriend Aubrey Faille, Abra, Tabitha, Courtney and Aaron;
three great-grandchildren;
sister, Sharlene and Charles Beck.
Now she is reunited with the love of her life and is blessed to be in Heaven with God. She will watch over her family from above and she will always be in their hearts forever.
