Marie was born in Flushing, Michigan on September 19, 1924, the daughter of Ernest and Bernice (Melancon) Kitch. She worked in the office at Buick Motor Division until June 1, 1946, at which time she married Charles Creamer and dedicated her life to being the world’s best wife and mother. Charlie and Marie loved camping, fishing, hunting, square dancing, and raising their family together. Marie was a lifelong member of Flushing United Methodist Church; a charter member of Genesee Star Quilters; belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star, Flushing Book Club, and enjoyed traveling with Flushing and Burton Senior Centers. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, quilting, watching the birds, and was a tremendous baker of cookies and pies; always happy to brighten someone’s day with a sweet treat.
Marie is survived by children: Georganne Britton, Kelly (Paul) Wagner, and James (Kelli) Creamer; grandchildren: Andrea North, Abigail Williamson, Shylo Trew, Brandy Britton, Heather Britton, Tony Garrison, Ben (Erica) Wagner, Becky Wagner, Sam Wagner, and Molly Creamer; 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Gallagher; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 12, 1994; her parents; granddaughter, Stephanie Britton, and brothers, George, Mart, and Don.
In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Marie, please make a special memory with someone you love, donate to your favorite charity, or simply do something nice for someone in need. Marie led a quiet, simple life and taught us to get the most joy out of everyday moments by spending time with family and friends, and always gave of herself through unspoken gestures of kindness.
