ALLEN, Willard L. - of Fenton, age 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Wellbridge of Fenton. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1PM until 8PM and Thursday from 12PM until the time of service at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Adopt-A-Pet of Fenton.
Willard was born August 10, 1937 in Wheeler, Michigan to the late Lee and Lena (Sadler) Allen. He graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School in 1955 and Arthur Hill High School in 1956. Willard married Janet M. Schlader on May 21, 1960 at Grace Lutheran Church in Saginaw. She preceded him in death January 14, 2017. Mr. Allen served in the Army National Guard for 6 years. He was a pattern maker his entire life, and enjoyed making toys and patterns. Willard was a member of the Fenton Moose Lodge #430. He was an avid bowler and golfer. Willard also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and wood carving. He loved all animals, especially dogs.
Surviving are: Son, Willard James (Anne) Allen of Saginaw; Daughter, Kathrine (Todd) Wilkinson of Fenton; Grandchildren: Sarah Allen, Kaiti (Jeff) Brady, Alexandra Wilkinson (Nathan Hunter), and Jessica Allen; Great granddaughter, Remmi Muladore; Brother: Clifford Elmer (Pam) Allen; Mother in law, Vera Schlader; Sister in law, Linda Allen. Brothers in law: Ronald Kniebbe, and John (Andrea) Schlader; Many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Willard was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert Jay Allen; Sisters: Twila D.
