Maynard, Billy Allen of Flushing, age 96, died Saturday, November 16, 2024, at Serene Gardens in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. Pastor Nick Heit will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 12 noon until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans.
Billy was born in Flint, Michigan on October 3, 1928, the son of Chester and Marie (Noon) Maynard. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, where he was awarded a Purple Heart and the Congressional Medal of Honor. Billy married Patricia Evans on November 19, 1977, in Flint. They were married 47 years before she preceded him in death on March 13, 2018. Billy was employed by General Motors at Fisher Body, retiring after more than 30 years. He enjoyed singing and karaoke. Together with his wife, Billy loved spending time in Ludington where he could fish.
Billy is survived by his daughters, Kristie and husband William Forbush, Pamela and husband John Tungl, Robin (Tom) Dahms; grandchildren, Ricky (Ashlee) Hudnall, James Hudnall, Jenny Hudnall, Jeremy (Dawn) Cooley, Tate (Jill) Tungl, Quentin (Angela) Green, Tabita Green, Johnene (Blu) Medina; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Issac, Jasmine, Ashton, Carter, Cairo, Destiny, Jacob, Katelynn, Kialynn, Jerelynn, Ryder, Journey, Madeline, Sage, Indigo, and Rylee. He was also preceded in death by his grandsons, Randy Hudnall, Brian Tungl; brother, John Beam; his beloved mother, Marie Maynard; and longtime friend, Al Revard.
