Lena Chintyan
Chintyan, Lena - age 90, of Burton, MI went home to Our Lord Jesus on July 5, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral service will be at 11AM Tuesday, July 9, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 2210 N. Franklin Ave. in Flint. Reverend John Mueller officiating. Interment at Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Sunday 5-8PM, Monday 2-4PM and 6-8PM and at the church for two hours prior to the service. Those desiring may make contributions to Calvary Lutheran Church.
Lena was born on December 3, 1922 in Flint, Michigan, the beloved daughter of John and Julia Igno. She resided in Flint her entire life; she attended Fairview Elementary School, Lowell Junior High School, and graduated from Flint Northern High School Class of 1940. Lena married Anthony (“Tony”) Chintyan, Jr. on June 29, 1946. Anthony preceded her in death on January 2, 1991. She worked at Buick Motor Division as a payroll clerk until the birth of her sons, John and James, in 1953.
Lena was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt who gave her love unconditionally. She was a full-time homemaker and wonderful mother to her sons, loved to read, and was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church where she unselfishly gave her time and energy to the many church activities.
Lena leaves her cherished memory to her sons John and James, nieces and nephews, Barbara Jean (Dennis) David of Grand Blanc, Julianne (Jack) Marlette of Gaylord, Mary Jane Mezaros of Grand Blanc, Stephen Mezaros of Arizona, Carolyn Haggart of Davison, Dr. Michael Giacalone, Jr. M.D. (Marcia) of Grand Blanc, special niece Maryanne (Carl) Mancour of Grand Blanc, several great nieces and nephews, special friend Marc Hanna and lovingly remembered by the families of Victor Giacalone (special thanks to Carol Giacalone Freeman) and Dora Giacalone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony, Jr., her parents John and Julia Igno, sisters Mary (Steve) Mezaros, Anna (Michael) Giacalone, and Laura (Jack) Rabideau.
