MONTAGUE, Gertrude L. - Of Grand Blanc, age 94, died Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 2p.m. Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Todd Regester officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made the charity of one’s choice. Visitation 2-9p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Gertrude was born in Davison Township on November 2, 1916, the daughter of Frank and Inez (Williams) Lang, and has lived in the same residence since her birth. She married Frederick Montague on September 26, 1936 at their residence. She was a member of Atlas Community Baptist Church for many years and was also a member of the Hill Road Baptist Church. Surviving are children, Janice and husband Don Hewitt of Swartz Creek, David and wife Sandy of Grand Blanc; Grandchildren, Fay, Donna, Heide, Dave, Jr., Lonnie and Melissa;
15 Great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; Sister-in-law, Alice;
Brother-in-law, George; Many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick, on July 12, 2002 and a great-granddaughter. Special thanks to Dr. Braver and her caregivers, Robbin, Jenny and Chris.
