TAPPY, Joseph Glenn Sr. - Age 90, of Flint, died Tuesday, June 23, 2020. Graveside service will take place 2 PM, Monday, June 29, 2020 at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, Mt. Morris. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Shriners Hospitals for Children. Joseph was born on June 11, 1930, in Flint the son of Glenn and Viola (Brown) Tappy. He graduated from Dye High School, class of 1949. Joseph and Beverlie Price were united in marriage on July 11, 1953 in Flint. He worked for DuPont for 24 years before retiring in 1989. Joseph proudly served in the Amy National Guard. He was a member of Hope United Methodist Church, Elf Khurafeh Shrine and Flint Masonic Lodge #23. In his free time, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He is survived by his 3 children, Michelle (James) Kelly of Holt, Michael (Kay) Tappy of Grandville, Joseph Tappy, Jr. of Flint; grandchildren, Jason (Jacqueline) Kelly, Emily (Ryan) Weldon, Meghan Tappy (Dave Wieck), Ryan Tappy, Kaitlin (Kevin) Crowe; great grandchildren Zoe and Noah Weldon, Madelyn and Amelia DiPiazza, Penelope and Elliott Crowe, and Maddi and Grace Davis; brother-in-law, Billie Gibson; special friend, Mary Mason; and several nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Beverlie; parents, Glenn and Viola Tappy; and sister, Anna Gibson. The family is very grateful to Dr. Henry Mendoza, All American Hospice and Warwick Adult Foster Care for their loving care of Joseph.
