PETERSON, Jerry Allen - Age 79, of Linden formerly of Fenton, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial in Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 3-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Fenton Fire Fighters Charities, fentonfirecharities.org.
Jerry was born January 26, 1938 in Fenton, the son of Raymond Leslie and Edith Thelma (Wilhoit) Peterson. He was a 1956 graduate of Fenton High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He married Janet Marion Gordon August 23, 1958 and she preceded him in death September 9, 2002; he then married Susan Marie Shoup September 24, 2011. Jerry owned and operated Jerry's Appliance in Fenton for many years. He was a firefighter for the Fenton Fire Department from 1964 to 1999, where he had also served as the Fire Chief. He was a life long member of First Presbyterian Church of Fenton.
Surviving are: his wife, Susan; children, Vicki (Ed) Hadfield, Sheri (Bill) Waterman, and Mikel (Jane) Peterson; grandchildren, Matthew (Chelsea) Hadfield, Marisa Sand, J.J. (Autumn Brown) Sand, Jodi (Shaun) Voight, Dane (Emily) Brown, Adam (Stephany) Peterson, and Ashlee (Anthony Nastwold) Peterson; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Roseann (Dave) Michael; brother, Wayne Peterson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leslie Raymond, Robert "Ted" Theodore , and Cris Kimbal Peterson. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
